What is WordCamp?
WordCamp is a conference type of event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these events. These events are usually highlighted by speeches or keynotes by various people.

So what’s WordCamp Toronto?
digibomb and PHUG – Open Source Culture, will be hosting WordCamp Toronto 2009! We want to explore WordPress to a higher degree and we’re looking for a bigger venue, sponsorships and more! In 2009, we would like to expand the conference to include all walks of WordPress life, from commercial to non-profit, from amateur to professional bloggers, designers and developers, and explore other ways in which WordPress is being used outside the blogging

I  built a community driven web presence for WordCamp Toronto 2009, I also hosted this event alongside PHUG – Open Source Culture.

tools we used
This site is built on the powerful WordPress platform. With WordPress we were able to integrate a blog feature, presentation breakdowns, speakers lists,  integrate a wide range of social tool like twitter, facebook, and flickr, I also build some custom plugins for YouTube video and podcasting features of speaker interviews.

• Publishing Features:Multiple image uploads, dynamic image cropping, custom content types, newsletter publishing, YouTube video, podacsting, twitter feeds.
• E-commerce Features: Using EventBrite, a FREE online event registration tool, we were able to easily integrate online ticket purchasing. View WordCamp Toronto Eventbrite Page.
